Sacramento offers a lot of great activities to travelers willing to explore California beyond San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Lake Tahoe. Located just 1.5 hours away from San Francisco, Sacramento is often visited as a day trip, but with so much to do and see in this great city, there are plenty of reasons to stay the night.
There are lots of accommodation options available in Sacramento, but our preference and recommendation is to stay in places with a bit more of a local charm and character rather than a bland hotel room. That’s why we think Airbnb is a great alternative.
There are over 200 Airbnb listings in Sacramento, ranging from private rooms as cheap as $14/night to a stunning gated 3 bedroom villa with swim-up bar and personal Jacuzzi set among the palms in the Elk Grove area.
But the best of Sacramento’s mid-range rooms can be found within the $100-$150 range. Here are just a few of our favourites.
